short announcement: jobs in Germany a spatial perspective

Oh gosh, that was a harsh discussion going on over this little map published on tumblr and reposted by myself on our geoscientists user group on facebook with 4500 members. Despite a controversial cat, I’ve used to say that there is a reason for not finding a (gis-)related jobs in the eastern part of Germany as there are -according to the map- only few headquarters of the biggest German companies.
As we publish jobs since nearly half a year I decided to visualize the density of open positions, just for proving my statement:

And surprisingly, it seems like there is no major difference in density of job positions in our list of 369 open positions according to east and west.
But what are your thoughts and also experiences in finding a job in Germany that is connected to spatial data?
